Robin is in her 20th year in the Puyallup School District. She teaches band at Kalles Junior High, where she has an extensive band program including jazz, marcing, and numerous concert bands. She recieved her Bachelors in Music Performance from Wichita State University, Wichita, KS, and her Master's in Music Performance (and a minor in history) from Indiana Univeristy, Bloomington, IN. Robin has coached the Puget Sound Youth Wind Ensemble percussion section for six years (since its inception). She is an active performer and has performed with the Tacoma Concert Band and the Northwest Wind Symphony as a percussionist and a soloist. She has served as clinician and adjudicator for solo/ensemble contests, large group band contests, band festivals in Washington State. As an active member of WMEA, she has served as contest coordinator, written articles for VOICE magazine (WMEA), presented at numerous conventions with honored groups (Mark Morris High School in Longview, WA and Emerald Ridge High School in Puyallup, WA, both percussion ensembles), and is currently president-elect of the Valley Region of WMEA. Robin was also inducted into the Washington Music Educators Hall of Fame at its annual conference held in Yakima on Thursday, February 15, 2018
Robin is an active private instructor with numerous students who continue to be selected for many local and state awards. Her husband, Sam, is also an accomplished musician and clinician. They have two grown daughters, Alicia (whose husband plays guitar) and Heather (whose husband plays multiple instruments), both raised in the band program.
In the 1970's, Robin toured and performed with groups such as The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Barry White, and for 15 years with the pianist, Roger Williams. She was also in demand in the Indianapolis area for recording sessions.
